Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU to everyone who has purchased tickets for the 2011 Taste of the Nation Los Angeles. Your ticket sales will be going to help feed hungry people in the city of Los Angeles so realize you are really eating to support a wonderful cause in our city.
The entire committee, working along with dozens of chefs, wineries and breweries has assembled what is sure to be the most dynamic food fest the city of LA has ever seen. Parking will be available in abundance at any downtown Culver City lot, so just follow the crowds or follow your nose to Media Park (across the street from the Trader Joes)!
An epic culinary celebration of our fine city complete with sunny skies, unlimited bites and drinks will be punctuated by a full day of amazing entertainment. A live band to kick off the day, fun carnival style games with excellent prizes, a photo booth, a Creekstone Farms cooking contest judged by Pulitzer Prize winning writer Jonathan Gold, Top Chef Masters finalist Mary Sue Milliken and comedian Kathy Griffin. This will be followed by a live auction with some insane opportunities we will sharing later today!

We are less than 2 weeks away from the 2011 Taste of the Nation Los Angeles event!
We wanted to take the opportunity to showcase some of the wonderful dishes some of the participating restaurants will be serving at the event that highlight this delicious CA Olive Oil product!
Lucques is making a Fattoush Salad dressed with California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin olive oil.
The Bazaar is serving California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin olive oil Olive Spheres. Campanile is making a California Olive Ranch Olive Oil fried egg on grilled bread with black olive tapenade and tomato concasse.
For those of you with VIP tickets, ink. will serving a selection of ice creams, including a California Olive Ranch Arbequina olive oil ice cream.
All of these sound incredibly delicious!

Creekstone Farms Chef Showdown
Avid cooks, heads up! Do your friends and family often say that you make the best pot roast, kebabs, or pan-fried steak? Do you find yourself obsessing over creating the perfect dish? When you watch Top Chef, do you ever feel like you could do better? Then this opportunity is for you!
Enter our LIVE Creekstone Farms Chef Showdown at Taste of the Nation LA 2011. Create a recipe using Creekstone Farms Premium Beef flank steak and you could win $5,000 that will go to Share Our Strength!
COMPLETE DETAILS: Please submit a recipe using Creekstone Farms Premium Beef flank steak as the centerpiece component of the dish.
DEADLINE: Please submit recipe to cookbookin@gmail.com no later than Tuesday, June 7th.
Two entrants will be selected to participate in a live cook-off at Taste of the Nation Los Angeles on Sunday, June 12th at 2:30pm at Media Park in Culver City. The two selected will each receive a ticket to Taste of the Nation.
The cook-off will last for 20 minutes and be judged by a three-person panel including Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill, Top Chef Masters), Jonathan Gold (LA Weekly) and a surprise judge based on the following criteria: taste (10 pts), presentation (5 pts), creativity (5 pts).
The winner will receive a prize and will have $5000 donated in their name to Share Our Strength on behalf of Creekstone Farms.
The recipe should be one that can be prepped in 1 hour or less and the cooking time at 20 minutes or less.
The contestants will be allowed to bring one (1) signature ingredient with them. All other ingredients will be provided by Taste of the Nation.
Taste of the Nation will provide the contestants with two induction burners, cookware (including grill pan), basic utensils, and serving plates. Entrants will be required to bring their own set of knives.
All Entrants must report to the competition venue no later than 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Upon arrival, entrants will be required to complete an official registration form and publicity release.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to anyone at least 21 years of age or older, and a legal resident of the United States. No purchase necessary to enter or win contest.
